Indian broadcasters sent home amid tensions

Indian broadcasters covering PSL sent home

ISLAMABAD: Indian broadcasters covering the Pakistan Super League (PSL) have been sent back home following the Pahalgam incident, which has led to escalated tensions between the two nuclear neighbours.

Following the tensions, India and Pakistan have cancelled all the valid visas of the citizens travelling to the respective countries and have ordered them to leave in the next 48 hours.

Recently, after the Pahalgam incident in India, the sports streaming channel FanCode suspended the live streaming of Pakistan Super League (PSL) in India and also removed videos and match highlights related to the tournament.

Major cities shut down on JI’s strike call

In response, Pakistan sent back 23 Indian employees present in the country during PSL broadcasting.

The Indian broadcasters were sent back to India after clearing customs and immigration at the Wagah border, despite the border being closed due to heightened tensions between the two countries.

The Indian employees present in Pakistan for PSL coverage and broadcasting were provided with VIP security.

It is worth noting that the 10th edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) started on April 11 and will continue until May 18.

On the other hand, besides FanCode, Sony Network is also an Indian sports partner for PSL as a satellite TV broadcasting partner, which has also taken similar action.
