Indian woman Anju marries Pakistani youth Nasrullah

PESHAWAR: Anju, an Indian woman, has married Nasrullah, a Pakistani youth, at a local mosque in Dir Bala in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after converting to Islam.
Malakand Division Deputy Inspector General Nasir Mahmood Satti confirmed to Geo News the marriage of Anju and Nasrullah, and said that the Indian woman has embraced Islam and now goes by the name Fatima.
As per local police sources, the marriage took place at the District and Sessions Judge’s court, and after the ceremony, the Indian woman was safely escorted to her home under police protection.
In her statement, Anju said that she came to meet her friend Nasrullah willingly, as “the people here are very hospitable, and the area is beautiful.”

Anju has also released a video statement stating: “I came to Pakistan lawfully. I feel safe here. I request the media not to disturb my children and relatives. Those who wish to talk to me, do it through proper legal channels. I will come back to India just like how I came to Pakistan, with proper arrangements.”
Anju has also submitted her legal affidavit to the court, where she stated that her original name was Anjutha with a Christian faith. She willingly accepted Islam and changed her name to Fatima, she said.
Furthermoer, in the sworn statement, Anju asserted, “No one forced me. I like Nasrullah. I came to Pakistan only for him. I have been given a 10-tola gold in dowry. He is my lawful and legal husband.”
According to reports she followed all legal procedures to come to Pakistan.
The Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi issued her the necessary formalities.
