Interior Minister orders crackdown on gas, power theft

ISLAMABAD: A nationwide crackdown against electricity and gas thieves would be launched, under the directives of Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
A meeting was held in Islamabad on Thursday under the chairmanship of the Interior Minister.
Special teams would be formed for a crackdown against electricity and gas thieves.
During the meeting, Minister Naqvi emphasized the need for swift and decisive action against those responsible for electricity and gas theft.
The interior minister has assigned a special task to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in this regard.

FIA officials also presented a detailed report on the Greek migrant ship incident.
Mohsin Naqvi stated that all individuals involved in this incident must be brought to justice.
Action against human smugglers must be ensured to eliminate this scourge.
It was also briefed in the meeting that taking action against individuals involved in hundi/hawala transactions has resulted in an improvement in the value of the Pakistani rupee.
The Interior Minister directed the FIA to further tighten the noose around individuals involved in hundi/hawala transactions.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary Interior, Additional DGs, and Directors of all regions of Pakistan.
