QUETTA: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, speaking on the situation in Balochistan, strongly asserted the supremacy of Parliament, emphasising that it will continue to remain the highest authority in the country. “Parliament is supreme, and will remain supreme,” he said.
Addressing concerns regarding the ongoing situation in Balochistan, Naqvi categorically denied any active military operation in the province, stating, “No operation is going on in Balochistan.”

Naqvi also said that during a recent visit to Quetta, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with all relevant stakeholders to discuss the security and administrative challenges in the region. The minister highlighted the importance of supporting those who believe in the state, while taking a firm stance against those who oppose it through violence.
“Those who do not recognise the state and who carry guns are terrorists, and we will stop these people,” Naqvi declared.
One of the key issues highlighted by Naqvi is the shortage of officers in Balochistan, which has hampered effective governance. To address this, officers from the federal government are being deployed to the province to strengthen the administration, he said.

Referring to an incident on the night of the August 26, Naqvi indicated that it was a pre-planned event, raising questions about the forces behind it.
He also warned against attempts to disrupt the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) conference, stating, “Let me make it clear that whoever is carrying a gun will be dealt with accordingly.”
