Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh takes oath as LHC acting chief justice

LAHORE: Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh took oath as the Acting Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court (LHC) today. The oath was administered by Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza in a formal ceremony.

The federal government issued a notification for the appointment following the departure of Chief Justice Alia Neelum, who has left abroad to attend the International Judicial Conference.

Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh will serve as acting chief Justice during Chief Justice Neelum’s absence.

The simple yet dignified oath-taking ceremony was held at the Judges Lounge of the Lahore High Court. The ceremony was attended by LHC judges as well as the president of the LHC Bar Association and other officials. The federal and provincial law officers, and officers and lawyers of the Lahore High Court also attended the oath-taking ceremony.

The judges congratulated the acting CJ Abid Aziz Sheikh on taking the oath.
