K-Electric sued over fatal electrocution incident

K-Electric sued

KARACHI: A woman has filed a Rs 30 million lawsuit against K-Electric, holding the company responsible for her father’s death due to electrocution.

The case was lodged at the City Court, with the plaintiff alleging that K-Electric’s negligence led to the death of her father, Gulzar.

According to the petition, Gulzar, a resident of Landhi Manshera Colony and a driver by profession, was electrocuted on July 20 in the Majid Colony area.

The incident occurred due to fallen electrical wires in water accumulated on the road.

The petition highlights that rescue services struggled to remove Gulzar’s body and transport it to the hospital.

Additionally, the plaintiff has requested the registration of an FIR against K-Electric, alleging that the police have been unresponsive to the complaint.
