Karachi residents to experience two-day water supply disruption


Residents in Karachi will experience a two-day disruption in water supply due to scheduled maintenance work by K-Electric.

KARACHI: Residents in Karachi will face a two-day disruption of water supply due to scheduled maintenance work at the Dhabeji Pumping Station, electricity provider K-Electric announced on Sunday.

According to a statement released by the company, extensive repair work is set to take place on Monday and Tuesday from 11 am till 7 pm.

During this period, the company warned consumers to anticipate disruptions in their water supply, impacting approximately 165 MGD (Million Gallons per Day) of water supply to the city.

According to a spokesperson for K-Electric, the maintenance work is essential to ensure the efficient operation of the pumping station and to address any potential issues. Power will be temporarily suspended at the Dhabji Pumping Station during the repair process.

However, the spokesperson reassured that power will be restored after 48 hours, once the maintenance work is completed.

Residents in Jamshed Town, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Clifton, Lyari, Saddar, Liaquatabad (Lalukhet), and Nazimabad will experience disruption in their water supply during the maintenance period. The company advised residents to make necessary arrangements to store water for their daily needs during this time.

K-Electric also urged residents to cooperate during the maintenance work and assured that efforts will be made to minimise inconvenience. They advised the residents to stay updated through official channels for any further updates or changes regarding the maintenance schedule.
