Karachi residents to face water shortage from tomorrow

KARACHI: The residents of Karachi will face water shortage from tomorrow (Thursday) due to development work.

Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB) spokesperson, warning of a water supply shortage in the city said water issues can happen from May 16 to May 19 due to development work.

The New Pump House Gharo will remain suspended due to the development works of K-Electric and KWSB.

People are advised to store water in their houses, the spokesperson said.

KWSB supplies 640 million gallons per day (MDG) to the city and with the current development work the city will be supplied around 13 million gallons per day (MDG) less water.

According to the spokesperson, the work will continue for three days, as new electrical equipment and panels will be installed in the Gharo pumping station.
