Karachi temperature to rise to 38°C over the weekend

KARACHI: The temperature in Karachi is expected to rise to 38°C over the weekend as the city continues to remain under the grip of hot and dry weather.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) the city will continue to experience dry and hot weather till March 12.

The maximum temperature recorded in the port city on Friday was 37.5°C. 4.9°C higher than the average for March, the met office said.

Temperatures are expected to reach 38°C on Saturday and Sunday during the day. However, the nighttime temperatures could decline by two or three degrees Celsius over the next two to three days.

In Karachi, the minimum temperatures are expected to range between 13°C and 16°C.

Another rain spell expected next week

Meanwhile, central Sindh will likely experience cooler nights, with temperatures ranging between 10°C and 12°C.

Meanwhile most other parts of the country will experience cold and dry weather, says the Meteorological Department.

Upper areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan are likely to remain cold. Islamabad and surrounding areas are expected to have dry weather.

Murree, Galyat, and nearby areas will remain cold. Partly cloudy skies are expected in Gilgit-Baltistan. Azad Kashmir is likely to experience cold and dry weather.
