Karachi weather: Scorching, stormy Tuesday!

KARACHI: Karachi is expected to experience a cloudy and hot weather, with a likelihood of thunderstorms developing in the late afternoon on Tuesday.

There is a high chance of rain (65 per cent). Residents are advised to take precautions for unpredictable weather as conditions evolve throughout the day.

Humidity throughout the day is expected to range from 62 per cent to 88 per cent. With such high humidity levels, residents are advised to stay hydrated as the risk of dehydration and heatstroke is high.

The temperature in Karachi is expected to peak at 35°C and drop to a low of 27°C. Winds are forecasted to be relatively mild, reaching speeds of up to 11 kilometers (km) per hour.

Despite the moderate wind, the air quality is poor. The city of 20 million has high levels of pollution, leading to poor air quality. At-risk groups are advised to stay indoors, such as those with pre-existing respiratory conditions.

The poor air quality also increases the chances of throat irritation or difficulty breathing as a result of the pollution. Experts recommend vising a doctor if symptoms persist or worsen.
