LAHORE: In a decisive move against defaulters of commercialisation fees, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) teams took action by sealing numerous commercial premises across various areas on Monday.
The operation, orchestrated under the directives of Commissioner Lahore and Director General (DG) LDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, was spearheaded by LDA Director Ayesha Mutahir.
During the operation, a total of 36 properties in New Muslim Town and nearby localities were sealed due to non-payment of annual commercialisation fees.
Among the sealed properties were private offices, schools, bakeries, clinics, and stores. These establishments, defaulters of the LDA, owed millions of rupees in commercialisation fees.
The commissioner affirmed that this operation would persist without bias, covering every corner of the city.

Notably, LDA teams also sealed the office of the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) owing to a default of Rs3 million, according to The News.
Similarly, the office of the Social Protection Department faced closure as the building owner had outstanding dues amounting to Rs6 million.
However, both government offices were eventually de-sealed after the owners provided written undertakings to clear their outstanding debts.
