LAHORE: With no chance of rain, Lahore and Karachi will see rising heat levels this week with forecasts predicting the mercury to rise as high as 42 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorology Department has issued warnings of escalating heat levels throughout the week in the provincial capital, exacerbating concerns over the discomfort and health risks posed by the blistering conditions.

With no immediate relief in sight, the weather forecasters indicate a prolonged spell of hot weather, with no chances of rain expected in the next three to four days.

This forecast has prompted medical experts to advise citizens to take precautionary measures to safeguard themselves against the adverse effects of extreme heat.

As the mercury continues its ascent, Karachi and its coastal counterparts in Sindh province are also bracing for scorching temperatures in the coming days.

Weather forecasters predict a surge in the thermometer readings, with the possibility of temperatures soaring as high as 46 degrees Celsius in upper and central Sindh.

The port city of Karachi, accustomed to hot summers, is expected to experience temperatures ranging between 36°C and 38°C, further exacerbated by elevated humidity levels, making it feel closer to 40°C to 44°C.
