LAHORE: The air quality in Lahore has once again taken a turn for the worst, with the city now ranking as the 7th most polluted globally, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 155.
Weather outlook for Sunday: dry spells, heat, and sporadic showers
On Sunday morning, despite dry and sunny weather the air quality of the provincial capital was recorded as ‘unhealthy’ due to an increase in pollution levels. The current temperature in the city stands at 29 degrees Celsius, with forecasts predicting it to soar up to 38 degrees Celsius by day’s end.
Adding to the discomfort, the humidity level in Lahore has reached 46 per cent, with wind speed at 18 kilometres per hour. Unfortunately, relief in the form of rainfall seems unlikely, as per the latest reports from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), which forecasts no precipitation in the next 24 hours.
