LESCO recovers Rs1.40 billion from 45,103 defaulters in 76 days

LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), in conjunction with Tehsildars (Recovery), has successfully reclaimed over Rs1.40 billion from a staggering 45,103 defaulters within a mere 76 days.
The comprehensive recovery campaign spanned all five districts under LESCO’s jurisdiction, including Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Kasur, and Okara.
During this period, Chief Engineer O&M (T&G) Zafar Iqbal, with the collaborative efforts of Tehsildar City Mujahid Zia and Tehsildar Shalimar Noreez Humayun, achieved an outstanding recovery of Rs 177.76 million from 5,759 defaulters in the Northern Circle. Similarly, in the Eastern Circle, a substantial sum of Rs340.91 million was retrieved from 5,804 defaulters under the diligent leadership of Chief Engineer Zafar Iqbal. LESCO’s commitment to reclaiming dues extended to other circles, with impressive results.
In the Central Circle, Manager (Material Disposal) Engineer Anwar Watto, supported by Tehsildar Model Town Rana Arsal and Tehsildar Cant. Sajjad Qureshi recovered Rs195.61 million from 5,465 defaulters. The South Circle witnessed a successful retrieval of Rs 74.04 million from 2,251 defaulters, showcasing the effective collaboration between LESCO Manager Anwar Watto and the dedicated Tehsildar team.
In Nankana Sahib Circle, Manager (Technical) Engineer Muhammad Farooq, alongside Tehsildar Muhammad Iqbal Rasheed and Tehsildar Sheikhupura Muhammad Aslam Gujjar, secured Rs 92.20 million from 4,243 defaulters. Simultaneously, the Sheikhupura Circle witnessed a remarkable recovery of Rs 210.59 million from 5,263 defaulters.

LESCO Manager E&S (PMU) Engineer Abbas Ali, in coordination with Naib Tehsildar Kasur and Okara Mirza Zahid Baig, achieved a notable recovery of Rs 89.15 million from 6,783 defaulters in Okara Circle. The Kasur Circle also experienced a robust recovery of Rs 227.26 million from 9,535 defaulters, a testament to the persistent efforts of the LESCO team.
On the 76th day of the recovery campaign, LESCO, in collaboration with Tehsildars (Recovery), celebrated yet another milestone, securing over Rs 17.8 million from 628 dead defaulters across all operational circles.
The breakdown includes recoveries of Rs2.64 million from 63 defaulters in the Northern Circle, Rs3.04 million from 90 defaulters in the Eastern Circle, Rs2.10 million from 68 defaulters in the Central Circle, Rs0.84 million from 55 defaulters in Nankana Sahib Circle, Rs 4.62 million from 84 defaulters in Sheikhupura Circle, Rs 1.32 million from 138 defaulters in Okara Circle, and Rs1.94 million from 101 defaulters in Kasur Circle.
The recovery campaign, initiated on September 13, has demonstrated LESCO’s commitment to clearing outstanding dues, with the Lahore Division’s Commissioner and LESCO CEO Engineer Shahid Haider providing essential support and leadership to ensure the success of this commendable initiative.
