LHC to hear Aamna Arooj’s bail plea in Khalil-ur-Rehman honey trapping case

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) will hear the bail plea of Aamna Arooj, accused for the alleged kidnapping of drama writer Khalil ur Rehman.

A two-member bench, headed by Justice Farooq Haider, will hear the alleged abduction case of Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar case on January 6.

A case was registered against Aamna Arooj and others at the Chuhang Police Station.

The accused has filed a post-arrest bail application through her lawyer.

Renowned scriptwriter Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar claimed he was abducted and robbed in Lahore on July 22 last year by a 12-member gang led by Aamna Arooj.

Qamar accused Aamna of inviting him to her house under the guise of discussing a drama project. However, upon his arrival, armed men allegedly kidnapped him. He was released only after paying a hefty ransom.

According to the FIR, the suspects stole Qamar’s mobile phone, watch, cash, and transferred Rs250,000 using his ATM card. The playwright stated that the kidnappers blindfolded him and abandoned him in a deserted area before escaping.
