M6 motorway to be constructed from Karachi to Sukkur

KARACHI: M6 Motorway will be constructed from Karachi to Sukkur via Hyderabad instead of from Hyderabad to Sukkur.

The agreement to this effect was made between Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Federal Minister of Communication Aleem Khan, during their meeting at CM House.

They agreed to explore the possibility of constructing the motorway through a public-private partnership (PPP) or a consortium to be formed by the provincial and federal governments.

The proposed motorway will span 306 kilometers and feature six lanes, designed as a high-speed toll road to enhance transportation efficiency and safety.

The initiative aims to facilitate port traffic and improve connectivity between major cities.

The M6 motorway will start from Hyderabad and terminate at Naro Canal.
