Malaysian PM set to arrive for state visit today

ISLAMABAD: Malaysian Prime Minister (PM) Anwar Ibrahim is set to arrive in Pakistan on Wednesday (today) for a three-day official visit.

The Malaysian PM will be accompanied by a high-level delegation that includes deputy ministers, cabinet members, and other senior government officials.

During the visit, the Malaysian PM is scheduled to hold extensive discussions with his Pakistani counterpart, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The two side are expected to explore a wide-ranging agenda aimed at improving Pakistan-Malaysia ties across different sectors. This includes trade, energy, agriculture, tourism and cultural exchanges.

The talks will also provide an opportunity for the leaders to exchange views on regional and global developments.

The upcoming visit comes at a critical juncture, as both countries navigate evolving geopolitical landscape and seek to deepen their longstanding relationship, rooted in shared religious values, historical ties and mutual respect.

Over the years, Pakistan and Malaysia have fostered economic ties, and collaborated on defence. The 2008 Pakistan-Malaysia Free Trade Agreement helped boost trade and investment between the two countries.
