Metro bus engine catches fire at Rawalpindi station

ISLAMABAD: Metro bus operating in the twin cities suddenly caught fire creating panic among the commuters on Monday afternoon near IJP station.

As per details, smoke started coming out of the bus engine near the Islamabad IJP Metro Bus Station due to which the bus had to stop in its tracks and load off the passengers swiftly.

The incident led to buses lining up on the track and passengers being forced to walk long distances on foot along the route.

Over one thousand arrested for violating smog SOPs

According to metro authorities, staff promptly managed to control the smoke and ensure the situation remained under control.

Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported. However, passengers waited several hours before being transferred to another bus.

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the smoke.
