Mixed weather conditions forecasted for Wednesday

WEB DESK: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that most areas of the country are expected to experience hot and dry weather. However, in some places there may be rain accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds.

Going region by region, PMD predicts that in Islamabad and surrounding areas, the weather will be hot and dry, with partly cloudy skies. Thunderstorms with gusty winds are possible in the afternoon, and light rain or drizzle may occur in the evening or at night.

In Punjab, the weather will generally be hot and dry across most districts. However, thunderstorms and rain with gusty winds are expected in some areas including Rahim Yar Khan, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Kasur, Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Bahawalpur, and Bahawalnagar.

Moving towards Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, most districts will experience hot and dry conditions. However, places such as Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Battagram, Kohistan, Swat, and neighboring areas are likely to see thunderstorms and rain with gusty winds.

Moving towards south, in Sindh, most districts will have partly cloudy skies. Thunderstorms with gusty winds are anticipated in Mirpur Khas, Umerkot, Mithi, Thatta, Badin, Tharparkar, Sanghar, Khairpur, and Sukkur. Light rain or drizzle may occur in Karachi, Hyderabad, and surrounding areas.

About Balochistan’s weather, PMD predicts hot and dry weather as well. However, in Loralai, Musakhel, Barkhan, Zhob, Kohlu, and areas such as Lasbela, Khuzdar, Awaran, and Kech, there may be thunderstorms and rain, with the possibility of heavy rain in a few areas.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, the skies will be partly cloudy throughout the day. Likewise, In Kashmir, the weather will be partly cloudy with the possibility of thunderstorms and rain at a few locations.
