Mobile services to be partially suspended on Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain

LAHORE: Mobile services will remain partially suspended in 10 districts of Punjab on account of Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) and other Karbala martyrs.

Punjab Provincial Home Department has advised for the suspension of cellular services from 5:00 am till 10 pm on routes and connecting areas where Chehlum Processions will be carried out.

The suspension will only affect areas where processions and gatherings are scheduled to take place.

As per the plan, mobile services will be shut down from 5 AM to 11 PM in specific locations across these districts.

Cellular services will be partially suspended in Rawalpindi, Jhang, Layyah, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Mianwali,  Gujrat, Gujranwala, Chakwal, and Toba Tek Singh.

However, mobile phone services will remain operational in all other districts of Punjab, including Lahore, as confirmed by the spokesperson for the Punjab Home Department.

The decision to suspend mobile services at specific locations has been taken to ensure law and order and the safety of citizens during the observance of the Chehlum.

The Punjab Home Department has communicated this decision to the federal government following a request from the police.
