MQM-P leader Rana Ansar’s son dies in road accident

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) MNA Rana Ansar’s son died while his friend was injured in a road accident in Karachi on Wednesday.

According to police, the accident took place early Wednesday morning near Clifton Underpass within the jurisdiction of Clifton police station.

Shahzaib, who was driving the car, suffered a fatal head injury in the incident when his car collided with the footpath which led to the crash.

Shahzaib’s friend, Muhammad Ilyas, was injured in the accident. Shahzaib was 35 years old while his friend Muhammad Ilyas was 30 years old.

The bodies of the deceased and the injured were promptly transported to Jinnah Hospital.

SHO Clifton Azam Rajper reported that the deceased resided on Rashid Minhas Road and was the youngest son of MQM Pakistan’s female MNA Rana Ansar and the late senior journalist Syed Ansar Ali Naqvi, while the injured is a friend of the deceased Shahzaib.

The cause of the accident was over speeding, according to the police.

Following legal procedures, the police handed over the body of the deceased to his family.

The family has announced that his funeral prayers would be held on Wednesday (today) after the Isha prayers.

President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragic death of the son of Member of the National Assembly Begum Rana Ansar in an accident.

In his condolence message, the President extended his sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for the elevation of the departed soul’s ranks.

Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also expressed deep sorrow and condolences over the death of MNA Rana Ansar’s son in road accident. He stated that he felt profound sadness upon hearing the news of the untimely passing of Rana Ansar’s young son. He prayed for Allah to grant Rana Ansar and her family patience during this difficult time.
