Multiple suspects downed, stolen funds recovered in police encounters


MURIDKE: Four suspects were killed while three remained at large following an alleged police encounter in Muridke.

According to a police official, the injured suspects were being transported to the hospital for medical treatment when their accomplices initiated gunfire.

“The suspects were killed during the exchange of fire that erupted when they targeted the police van,” the official added.

The police official further stated that the accused individuals had assaulted an individual, and had absconded with PKR1.2 million. However, the official said that the stolen amount has been recovered from the suspects.

Meanwhile, during a separate police encounter in Karachi, a suspect was killed near Malir Jafar-e-Tayyar society, as reported by sources.

Rescue sources told HUM News that the deceased suspect was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medico-legal procedures.

In another incident, Karachi police arrested three suspects for their alleged involvement in street crimes near Tipu Sultan Road.

Police officials said that First Investigation Reports (FIR) had already been registered against the suspects.

“We have seized three pistols and a motorcycle form the possession of the suspects,” the officials revealed.
