Mustafa murder: jewellery safe recovered from Armaghan’s house disappears

KARACHI: The diamonds and cash allegedly recovered from two safes at the residence of Armaghan, the prime suspect in the Mustafa Aamir murder case, have reportedly gone missing, officials revealed on Wednesday.

The revelation was made during the second meeting of the National Assembly’s subcommittee on interior, which was held at the Central Police Office Karachi to review the progress of the murder investigation.

Sources disclosed that authorities informed the committee that Armaghan had spent Rs2.5 billion over six months through his employees’ bank accounts.

Officials further stated that the suspect’s luxury vehicles had been seized, and multiple bank accounts had been frozen.

The committee directed authorities to investigate the missing valuables from the safes and submit a report.

However, the exact value of the missing jewellery and cash remains unclear.

The session, chaired by Member National Assembly (MNA) Abdul Qadir Patel, reviewed the investigation progress.

Other attendees included MNAs Nabeel Gabol, Agha Rafiullah, and Khawaja Izharul Hassan, along with Sindh Inspector General Ghulam Nabi Memon, Karachi Additional IG, senior officials from FIA, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), and the Sindh Excise Department.

During the briefing, officials from Sindh Police, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and ANF shared updates on the case, including details of money laundering, narcotics links, and other criminal activities linked to the suspect.

The committee appreciated the joint efforts of these agencies in gathering evidence and progressing with the investigation.

The committee members reaffirmed their commitment to completing the probe and presenting their findings in the National Assembly while ensuring transparency through media updates.

They urged all institutions to provide a comprehensive report in the next meeting to ensure legal and constitutional proceedings reach their logical conclusion.

It may be added here that last week, police had also arrested Kamran Qureshi, father of Armaghan Qureshi in a narcotics case.

The Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) police conducted an operation and arrested Kamran Qureshi, for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking.
