ISLAMABAD: Following a protest in the federal capital, nine separate first information reports (FIRs) have been registered against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders and workers.
The charges encompass a range of offences, including anti-terrorism violations, obstructing public functions, and other criminal sections.
Among those nominated in the cases are Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Salman Akram Raja, Sheikh Waqas, and other leaders of the party.
Of the total cases, eight were filed at multiple police stations across Islamabad, including Shehzad Town, Sehala, Bani Gala, Khanna, Shams Colony, Tarnol, Noon, and Nilore.
The ninth case was registered against 750 workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) at Pir Pahai Police Station in Mianwali.

In the FIR, a copy of which is available with HUM News English, 52 leaders and workers of PTI were named, while 750 others were included as unidentified individuals.
Among the accused are also lawmakers, including members of the National Assembly (MNAs) Barrister Umair Khan and Jamal Ahsan Khan, and members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) Amin Ullah Khan, Fateh Khaliq, and Mumtaz Ahmad.
The Mianwali police also booked Mayor Dera Ismail Khan and the brother of KP CM, Umar Amin Gandapur, in the FIR, for violating various clauses of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
Bushra Bibi, former president Arif Alvi, Ali Amin Gandapur, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Umar Ayub Khan, and Khurshid Khan were named as ‘advisor to the accused’.
Earlier on Tuesday, pro-Imran activists arrived in Islamabad in caravans and convoys led by Bushra Bibi and Ali Amin Gandapur to hold a sit-in at D-Chowk in support of their demands.
The federal government launched an operation Tuesday night to clear the capital city of the protesters. Ali Amin and Bushra Bibi reportedly fled the scene long before the operation began, while the PTI supporters faced the brunt alone.
The government claimed that they have evidence to prove that the PTI protesters were armed and came with ill intentions.
