11 labourers killed in Harnai blast

QUETTA: Eleven labourers have been killed and more than five injured in a blast at a coal mine area in Harnai, area of Balochistan.
According to Deputy Commissioner Harnai Hazrat Ali, a bomb blast occurred on a pickup vehicle when the labourers were on their way to the bazaar from the coal mines, in which 11 labourers were killed and more than five injured, who have been shifted to the hospital.
Initial reports indicate that the deceased labourers belonged to Swat.
The DC Harnai says that the dead and injured people were working in coal mines. After the incident, the dead bodies and the injured are being shifted to the hospital.

Initial reports suggest that the blast was carried out by an IED device.
After the blast, police and law enforcement agencies reached the spot and have started collecting evidence. The area has been sealed off and investigations have started.
PRESIDENT, PM CONDEMNATION
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif have condemned the incident and have expressed condolences over the loss of lives.
In their separate messages, they have reiterated their resolve to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.
The government of Balochistan has also expressed condolences with the affected families.
An investigation into the incident has been ordered, said the Balochistan government spokesperson.
Evidence is being collected from the site, stated Shahid Rind.
According to initial investigations, the explosive device was planted by the roadside, Shahid Rind added.
