LAHORE: The Punjab Education Department has decided against any extension in the winter holidays, and schools throughout the province will reopen on January 13 (Monday).
Many parents were anticipating that there might be an extension in school winter holidays due to the cold, dry and foggy weather in Punjab.
School Education Department has refuted all rumours of an extension in winter breaks in schools and according to Secretary of Schools Khalid Nazeer Watto no suggestion of an extension in winter break is under consideration.
He said that schools throughout Punjab will reopen as scheduled on January 13 and parents should send their children to schools.
While some welcomed the decision to resume classes, others expressed concerns about the ongoing cold wave and its impact on children’s health.
Fog and smog continue to engulf many areas of Punjab, especially during morning time.
