No internet, mobile service on Muharram 7,10 in Quetta

QUETTA: The mobile phone and internet service will be shut down in Quetta on the occasion of Muharram 7 and 10.

According to the officials of the Home Department, the arrangements regarding Muharram-al-Haram have been completed in Balochistan including Quetta.

Mobile and internet service will be suspended in Quetta on 7 and 10th of Muharram from 6:00am to 12:00 midnight. In contrast, mobile service will be closed on 9 and 10 Muharram in Kachhi, Jhal Magsi, Jafarabad, and Osta Muhammad.

Karachi implements alternative traffic plan for Muharram

More than 18,000 personnel will be deployed in Quetta on Ashura day. According to the home department, five platoon QRF of Pakistan Army will remain on standby while two helicopters will also be present for aerial surveillance of processions on Muharram 7, 9, and 10.

Pilliom riding is also prohibited under Section 144 from 1st to 10th of Muharram in seven districts of the province.
