No true effort being made to solve the problems of the country: Khaqqan Abbasi

KARACHI: Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Tuesday said he does not believe in contesting elections under the current political scenario.
Talking to media outside the accountability court Abbasi said he did not go to welcome Nawaz Sharif at Minar-e-Pakistan because he is not a senior party leader.
He said he does not believe in the politics which is detrimental to the public and the country. The former PM said he is not seeing true effort to solve the problems in the country.

He emphasized the need of all stake holders to sit together to resolve the issues facing the country.
He reiterated his allegations that NAB has paralyzed the country and it has been five years since he has been appearing before the courts.
He demanded to installation of cameras in courts and show the public what was actually happening in the court.
“People have been coming for justice for 10 years,” he added.
Abbasi said the former chief justice created the bench just before his retiring date and abolished the parliamentary law.
“There is also a demand from the incoming government to abolish NAB,” Abbasi said.
