Non-bailable warrants for Arshad’s wife, producer issued

ISLAMABAD: A district and sessions court on Saturday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for the wife and producer of the deceased journalist Arshad Sharif

The court has summoned Arshad Sharif’s wife Summaiya Arshad and producer Ali Usman after they failed to appear in court despite being summoned.

Last month, Pakistan and Kenya entered into an agreement for mutual legal assistance concerning the murder case of journalist Arshid Sharif.

This agreement will allow Pakistani authorities to get access to key suspects located in Kenya.

According to sources, the agreement is an outcome of discussions involving the federal government, the Supreme Court and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Arshad Sharif was assassinated in Kenya on October 23.
