ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has issued a written order of the hearing of the implementation of the Faizabad dharna review case on November 15.
The written order stated that no one was held accountable in the context of the Faizabad dharna verdict of the Supreme Court, and there was no accountability for the violent protests, leading to a recurrence of events similar to those on May 9.
To address this, it said, the government has formed an inquiry committee with a mandate to complete the investigation within two months.
The next hearing for the case is scheduled for January 22 next year, the written order said.
In its written order, the Supreme Court expressed hope that the inquiry commission would promptly conclude the investigation into the Faizabad dharna.

Additionally, it directed the election commission to submit a report at the next hearing related to the foreign funding of Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan.
The Supreme Court had previously delivered its decision on the Faizabad dharna case on February 6, 2019.
“Despite the passage of years, the Faizabad sit-in verdict was not implemented by the governments. Review petitions were filed against the decision, but they were not scheduled for a hearing, leading to the non-implementation of the court’s decision,” it said.
The written order emphasized that every court order is mandatory for executive authorities, but implementation is hindered when review petitions were filed. However, all the review appeals have now been disposed of.
The order highlighted that the failure to schedule review petitions for timely hearings prevented the implementation of the decision. No one was held responsible for past violent incidents, and no action was taken.
Consequently, the lack of implementation led to violent incidents becoming a norm for personal gains, it said.
