ISLAMABAD: Noor Wali Mehsud – the chief of outlawed TTP – is a follower of the dangerous Khawarij ideology, which falsely brands Muslims as unbelievers and spreads division, thus promoting extremism, sectarianism and hate.
Security sources say his actions are based upon a distorted version of Islam, which permits cooperation with non-Muslims against fellow Muslims, breaking the fundamental Islamic values of justice and unity.
That’s why Noor Wali’s Khawarij-style extremism is destroying Muslim unity and social harmony.
Hence, the sources say, the only way forward is to oppose this false ideology to protect the future and strength of the Muslim community.
In order to justify his distorted ideology, Noor Wali manipulates and moulds Islamic teachings to fit his own violent agenda. Hence, authentic scholarship is ignored and religion twisted to justify his extremist actions.
SECTARIANISM
Just like the original Khawarij, Noor Wali declares other Muslims as enemies, promoting sectarian violence and undermining the unity and brotherhood that Islam commands.
Hence, it is completely opposite to what Islam teaches: peace, mercy, and unity.
Another alarming factor, the sources say, is the way Noor Wali’s group receives backing from foreign intelligence agencies. The sole objective of this exercise is to destabilise Pakistan by exploiting religion for political gain.

It is despite the fact that Islam strictly forbids aiding enemies against Muslims and Noor Wali has been doing the same.
SELF-APPOINTED LEADER
At the same time, Noor Wali falsely claims the religious authority to label fellow Muslims as enemies and to seek help from non-Muslims against them. No recognised Islamic scholar or institution has granted him such power. He is a self-appointed leader twisting Islam to justify violence and division.
It is the reason why respected Islamic scholars and institutions have unanimously rejected Noor Wali’s extremist rejected by respected. They condemn his deliberate misinterpretation of Islam to support terrorism and intra-Muslim conflict.
IN VIOLATION OF ISLAMIC TEACHINGS
It must be pointed out that authorizing cooperation with non-Muslims against Muslims violates the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which make it clear that the Muslims are brothers who must not harm one another. This misuse of Islam fuels conflict, instead of promoting forgiveness and harmony.
Islam teaches mercy, justice, and brotherhood and values, but Noor Wali and his group betray through violence and falsehoods. It is the duty of all Muslims to expose and stand firmly against such extremists to preserve the true spirit of Islam.
