Oil tanker owners announce to suspend petrol, diesel supply

ISLAMABAD: The Oil Tankers Owners’ Association has announced the suspension of petrol and diesel supply starting from Tuesday (tomorrow).

According to the association, due to a decrease in the measurement standards, the supply of petroleum products will be halted from April 16.

The transmission of petroleum products will remain suspended to Gilgit-Baltistan, Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the association said adding that the supply will also be suspended to all airports across the country.

“The supply will be halted until our demands are met,” the association said adding that despite sending notices to the PSO authorities and the Islamabad deputy commissioner, no response has been received.

The association further said that the demands related to the metered system should be promptly restored. “Until the acceptance of our demands, the supply will remain suspended,” the association said.
