Online application system introduced for international driving permits

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani citizens now have a convenient and efficient way to apply for International Driving Permits (IDPs) through an online application and verification process introduced by the office of the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, on Saturday.

Under this new system, Pakistani citizens can initiate the IDP application process by sending scanned copies of the required documents directly from the City App. Once the documents are submitted, applicants will receive a confirmation message from the Administration.

Following the verification process, approved applicants can then visit a designated facility center. There, they can expect to receive their International Driving Permit within a remarkably short timeframe of ten to fifteen minutes.

To facilitate the IDP application and verification procedure, citizens are required to provide their National Identity Card (NIC) details through the City App. Additionally, the City App incorporates a fraud detection feature that enables users to determine the authenticity of their permits, enhancing security and trust in the process.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad emphasised the convenience of this new digital approach, stating that citizens will no longer need to physically visit government offices for IDP processing. Instead, they can access the entire procedure through the City App, simplifying and expediting the application process.
