MIRANSHAH: A special five-day training program was organised by the Pakistan Army for Police in Miranshah, North Waziristan, Radio Pakistan reported on Monday. The training was aimed to equip the police officers with the technical capabilities and necessary skills needed to deal with security situations.

The police officers were trained in the handling and usage of various arms, including hand grenades. They were also trained in firing during the night time, as well as physical combat during the training.

Other courses in the training included bomb disposal, VIP protection, and firing from moving vehicles.

SECURITY OPERATION

On November 30, the office of the Deputy Commissioner imposed a three-day curfew in South Waziristan due to the ongoing security operation.

The Sangah and Anzar Cheena areas will have the curfew from 5 AM till 6 PM for three days. The curfew has been imposed due to the movement of security forces in the area.

The operation is being carried out in response to the surge in militancy in the area. Once the situation improves, the curfew will be lifted, said the authorities.
