Pakistan Navy, ANF seize major drug shipment in Arabia Sea

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Navy in coordination with the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted a huge counter-narcotics operation in the northern Arabian Sea on Wednesday.
The operation led to the seizure of over 2,000 kilograms of hashish, 370 kg of ice and over 50 kg of heroine.
The drugs were confiscated by the Pakistan Navy ship, Hunain.

Authorities also discovered a large consignment of illegal Indian-made pills, totalling over a 100,000. The pills were intended to be transported to international destinations via sea routes.
The estimated value of the seized drugs in the international market is around $145 million.
The confiscated drugs were then transferred to the ANF for “further” legal action.
The drugs were hidden in concealed compartments of a suspicious vessel. Pakistan Navy later in a statement reiterated tis ‘dedication’ to preventing illegal activities within the country’s maritime borders.
