Pakistan requests US facilitation for mango exports

WASHINGTON: Pakistan’s Ambassador to US Masood Khan has requested United States for a pre-inspection facility at Karachi Port enabling the country to export mangoes to various parts of the the country in greater quantities.
Addressing the annual reception and Mango Festival hosted at Pakistan Embassy in Washington DC, Khan expressed hope the process would be expedited by concerned US authorities.
Participants at the event expressed hope the two countries would be able to overcome hurdles in way of export of Pakistani mangoes so that their unique taste, sweetness and aroma can be enjoyed across the United States.
On the occasion, Chairman House Foreign Affairs Committee Michael McCaul said United States has important security arrangements with Pakistan but through trade and economic investment in Pakistan, the two countries can become even closer partners and bring peace to our nations.
