Pakistan vs England test matches: Traffic plan issued for Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: City Traffic Police have released a detailed traffic plan for the upcoming Pakistan vs England Test matches at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, starting October 24, 2024.

Special arrangements have been made to ensure smooth traffic flow on alternate routes during the matches. Over 370 traffic officers and personnel will be on special duty to manage the traffic.

Five parking zones have been designated for spectators, with a shuttle service arranged by district authorities to transport people from parking areas to the stadium.

During the team’s arrival and departure, Murree Road will be completely closed from Faizabad to Double Road. Traffic from Islamabad will be diverted from Faizabad to Expressway, while vehicles from Rawalpindi heading to Islamabad can use 6th Road and Saidpur Road for entry into the capital.

Additionally, traffic from Ghausia Chowk will be redirected via Farooq-e-Azam Road and Kuri Road. Stadium Road will remain fully closed from 9th Avenue to Double Road during the match hours.

For those coming from Islamabad via 9th Avenue, traffic will be directed through Faizabad Expressway, IJP Road, and Pindora Chungi to access Rawalpindi. Meanwhile, traffic from Rawalpindi towards Islamabad can use Murree Road via Faizabad.

Citizens will also be informed about the latest traffic situation through official social media pages and FM radio stations.
