ISLAMABAD: A partial lunar eclipse that was visible across parts of Pakistan on Wednesday, has concluded, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The event offered a short window for skywatchers in the country as the eclipse started at 5:41am local time, with the partial phase starting at 7:13am. However, the moon was below the horizon during much of the eclipse, limiting visibility across Pakistan.
The lunar eclipse in Pakistan reached its peak at 7:44 am, and the shadow started to recede by 8:16 am.

The event will conclude at 9:47 am, but observers in Pakistan will only be able to catch a glimpse during the partial phase.
The PMD added that the eclipse will be visible in large parts of Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America, as well as the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Oceans, the Arctic, and Antarctica.
Lunar eclipses occur when the Earth passes between the sun and the moon, casting its shadow onto the lunar surface.
This partial eclipse, though not as dramatic as a total eclipse, will cover only 3.5 per cent of the moon at its peak.
