Pediatric heart surgery and treatment services launched in Quetta

heart surgery

QUETTA: Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Institute of Cardiology, Quetta (SMBZAN ICQ) and National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) have launched pediatric heart surgery and treatment services.

Over 2,000 child recovery cases resolved through ZARRA App

This marks a significant step in addressing heart diseases in children. Following an agreement signed between the NICVD and Sheikh Zayed Hospital on February 17, a new era of treatment began.

As per the agreement, NICVD doctors commenced pediatric heart disease treatment in the regular Outpatient Department (OPD). The OPD was officially inaugurated earlier this year in March and now the specialised care for children with heart conditions has commenced.

This initiative marks a milestone for the province, as regular interventions and surgeries for pediatric heart diseases are now available, providing much-needed medical attention to young patients.

Additionally, starting this month, newly registered children can avail themselves of OPD services alongside surgical interventions, ensuring comprehensive care for pediatric heart conditions.
