Fee hike likely for PEF affiliated schools

LAHORE: Punjab government is considering a possible hike in fees for millions of students studying in Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) partner schools.

According to sources, a Rs 100 increase in the tuition fees for primary students and a Rs 50 increase for middle school students is being considered.

If the proposed fee hike goes through, primary school students could be looking at a fee of 650 rupees, and middle school fees might climb to Rs 700.

Notably, the government is expected to cover the increased fees for the partner schools.

Currently, the fee for primary school students stands at 550 rupees, and middle school fees are fixed at 650 rupees.

It’s important to highlight that there are around 7,500 PEF partner schools scattered across Punjab.

This potential shift in education costs, will affect a significant number of students in the province.

SOLAR SYSTEMS FOR PEF SCHOOLS

An agreement has been signed between Punjab Education Foundation and Bank of Punjab, marking a significant step towards providing solar panels to more than 7,000 partner schools under the PEF umbrella.

According to a spokesman for the PFA, the partnership aims to empower educational institutions with sustainable energy solutions through accessible installment loans for the acquisition of solar systems.
