Matric physics paper leaked before scheduled start in Karachi

KARACHI: The physics paper for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) in Karachi was reportedly leaked online moments before the matric exam was to commence on Saturday,
According to reports, a solved physics paper from the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) was circulating online. The leaked paper was posted to several groups on social media messaging apps “WhatsApp” and “Facebook”.
The Universities and Boards Department for the province of Sindh directed the BSEK chairman to “take action”.

The most recent leak is just one more issue in a series of problems that have plagued matric exams in Sindh. Reports have emerged of various papers being leaked just before the exams were scheduled to start. Additionally, hundreds of students in Karachi were not issued their roll-number slips on the night preceding their matric exams.
There have also been reports of overcrowding in some examination centers. This led to several students being forced to sit on the ground while attempting their exams.
Earlier, news outlet reported that the computer science paper for ninth class was leaked online. Just like with the physics paper, the computer science paper was leaked on the day of the exam.

Similarly, there were reports of exam paper leaks in various cities of Sindh despite assurances from the the provincial government. The Sindhi language paper in Larkana surfaced online right before the exam. This cast doubt on the effectiveness of measures taken by the Larkana Education Board.
The Urdu language paper leaked in Kandiaro, and individuals leaked the English language paper in Khairpur. There were allegations of the invigilators’ involvement in aiding students. The local education boards had promised to prevent cheating and paper leaks during exams.
