PM Kakar bars ministers, officials from foreign visits

ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has withdrawn permission granted to federal ministers and government servants for foreign visits till the completion of the general election.

“The caretaker prime minister has withdrawn, with immediate effect, all permissions of foreign visits, official or private, granted to federal ministers and all government servants, including employees of attached departments and autonomous bodies till the completion of the election process and assumption of office by the new government,” said a circular available with HUM News English.

The PM Secretariat has directed all federal secretaries to ensure that all permissions for foreign visits, official or private, granted or allowed by the ministers-in-charge of their divisions are also withdrawn with immediate effect.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced the general election for February. The Printing Corporation of Pakistan has already started printing ballot papers ahead of the general election.

The ECP is expected to announce the official result on February 9, before the winning party forms the next government at the Centre and provinces.
