PM Kakar urges resource support for weaker nations’ SDGs

NEW YORK: Caretaker Prime Minister (PM) Anwarul Haq Kakar has emphasised the importance of providing resources to weaker nations to enable them to achieve their sustainable development goals.

Speaking at a United Nations event focused on Sustainable Development Goals, Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar underscored the necessity of equitable development for long-term sustainability. He pointed out that developing countries often lack the necessary resources to reach their development objectives.

In his address, PM Kakar suggested that Conditional Sustainable Development Reimbursements (CSDRs) worth $500 billion could be contingent upon fulfilling debt repayment obligations.

Meanwhile, the carertaker PM also stressed the importance of devising action plans for countries burdened by debt.

In addition to his participation in the United Nations discussions, PM Kakar is scheduled to attend a dinner hosted by the President of the United States, honouring heads of state from across the world.
