PM vows to take Pakistan’s tax-to-GDP ratio to 15 per cent

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif vowed on Thursday that the government will increase Pakistan’s tax-to-GDP ratio to 15 per cent.

He made these remarks while chairing a sectoral meeting regarding the Ministry of Finance in Islamabad. The Prime Minister directed to reduce expenditures to alleviate the burden on the common man without resorting to tax hikes.

He further stated that public-private partnerships would be encouraged for airport services, involving private operators.

The Prime Minister emphasized a strong focus on reducing debt, subsidies, and implementing reforms and accountability in institutions.

Federal ministers  Muhammad Aurangzeb , Ahad Khan Cheema, Masood Malik, Ahsan Iqbal, and others participated in the meeting.
