ISLAMABAD: Poet and media personality Ahmad Farhad was abducted from his residence in Islamabad by unknown assailants.
His wife Ain Naqvi confirmed the incident on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). In a post, Naqvi stated that the perpetrators vandalised the security cameras and confiscated the digital video recorder from their home.

Despite Ain Naqvi’s attempts to report the abduction to the police and file a First Information Report (FIR), authorities reportedly refused to register the complaint. The wife then filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
During a hearing at the IHC presided over by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, lawyers representing the petitioner along with senior superintendent of police (SSP) operations were present. The court issued a direct order for the recovery of Ahmad Farhad and instructed the police to produce him in court the following day.
The police reported that they were examining nearby surveillance cameras to investigate the disappearance. The IHC judge expressed concern over the accountability for Shah’s disappearance and urged the police to recover the poet.

The court warned of consequences if they failed to find Shah, adjourning the hearing until the next day.
