Three people kidnapped for ransom in Kashmore

KARACHI: Three more people including a doctor have been kidnapped for ransom in district Kashmore of Sindh creating a wave of unrest in the district and its adjoining areas.

Following the incident, heavy contingents of the police and Rangers were sent to the katcha area to secure the release of the captives.

According to police sources, the people were kidnapped in two separate incidents.

In the first incident, the sources said, dacoits attacked a clinic at Dakhan Banglo area in the limits of Kashmore police station and kidnapped Dr Ghulam Sarwar Dashti at gunpoint.

In the second incident, which was reported from 17 RD Road in the jurisdiction of Guddu police station, the robbers fired at a dumper and took driver Sadiq and Farooq Malik away with them to the katcha area, they elaborated.

It is worth-mentioning here that despite joint operations carried out by the law-enforcement agencies, there is no reduction in such incidents; consequently, making people of the area feel insecure.

Atleast 18 people have been kidnapped in the area since the past one month.

According to police sources, Durrani Mahar, Gublo, Kacho Keti, Ghora Ghat, Miyani, Changin, Haji Khan Shar, and Gehal Pur were hotspots for kidnapping. Bhayo, Tegani, Jagirani, Sabzois, Shar, and Bhangwar are the gangs involved in abductions, they added.

The Sindh Cabinet recently approved Rs2.79 billion for a grand anti-bandit operation in coordination with Balochistan and Punjab.

Sources said that Kashmore district has received 17 police mobile vans.
