ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People Party (PPP) has also filed a review petition with the Supreme Court (SC) challenging the decision to allocate reserved seats to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
On Tuesday, PPP’s lawyer Farooq H Naiq filed the petition on behalf of his party.
The petition adopted the stance that July 12 SC verdict on the reserved seats should be annulled.
Today’s federal cabinet meeting on PTI ban postponed
Previously, on July 15, the PML-N government filed a review petition in the Supreme Court challenging the decision made on July 12 regarding the allocation of reserved seats to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). In the petition, the PML-N has also requested the issuance of a stay order on the July 12 decision until a final ruling is made on the case.
The review petition argues that the Supreme Court should reconsider and withdraw the decision, asserting that the allotment of reserved seats to the PTI requires thorough review.
