President Alvi meets world leaders in Saudi Arabia


MECCA: President Dr Arif Alvi met with world leaders during his visit to Saudi Arabia.

The president attended an annual ceremony over the weekend held the Royal Court. The event held under the aegis of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, was attended by world presidents, prime ministers, senior Islamic dignitaries, and others including heads of delegations who performed Hajj this year.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salamn also met with several world leaders including President Alvi. 

“The Crown Prince shook hands with King Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah of Malaysia, Senegal President Macky Sall, Bangladesh President Mohammed Shahabuddin and other esteemed dignitaries”, the press release said.

Taking to Twitter, President Alvi posted pictures of himself alongside the Bangladesh president Mohammed Shahabuddin and minister and adviser to the Bangladeshi prime minister Salman Rahman who he called his “childhood friend”.

He also posted a picture with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, saying in the caption that it was “very symbolic of the great relationship between the people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

President Alvi’s visited Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj.
