KARACHI: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Monday challenged the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Ordinance in the Sindh High Court.
Sindh PTI President Haleem Adil Sheikh filed a constitutional petition contending that the ordinance was a “clear violation of the judgment of the Supreme Court.”
A bench headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa had declared that the ordinance can only be promulgated in case of emergency.

The petitioner submitted that the Supreme Court had decided that no ordinance could be issued immediately after the parliament session. Now the chief justice is violating his own decision.
The petitioner contended that the government was involving the judges in politics.
The petitioner requested the Sindh High Court to annul the ordinance and stop its implementation until the court’s decision.
