PTI leader Ali Muhammad Khan arrested for fourth time


PESHAWAR: Peshawar police on Friday arrested Ali Muhammad Khan, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, and former Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, from outside the Peshawar jail after he was released on a court order.

The PTI leader was arrested for the fourth time since he was taken into custody amidst intermittent release orders issued by different courts.

According to Peshawar Police Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) Najib-ur-Rehman, the PTI leader was arrested for his alleged involvement in the May 9 riots.

The PTI leader was released from Peshawar jail before he was taken into custody and shifted to the the City Police Station Peshawar.

Previously, Khan was detained on charges of disrupting public order under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order.

The PTI leader had challenged his detention at the Peshawar High Court, which issued his release orders release on Wednesday.

A first investigation report has been registered against him at the City Police Station by levelling new charges against him related to May 9 incidents.

The Peshawar police DIG said that the PTI leaders will be presented today in an Anti-Terrorism Court to seek his physical remand.
